Child Custody

Can any body describe me about the law of child custody in details? What are the basic requirement to file the same case?

the welfare of the child is the paramount consideration that is assessed from the facts of each case the law on the point is voluminous

Custody of Child can not be put in strait jacketj and it all depends on the circumstances of the case.
