What happens during marriage counselling at ps?

What happens during marriage counselling at PS?
Wife filed complaint at police station.

Got a phone call from PS and later a notice for attending marriage counselling, what happens next at there?

Gather guts (you will have guts if you did not do any wrong, but by reading your posts it is clear that you accepted gifts/cash from the girl) and go to the police station.  You can witness yourself what happens there.  No need to take a advocate with you at this point.

From your other posts it is clear that you took dowry.  In case you intend to return, which you will obviously have to, do it in formal way.  Write down what all you received from the girl or her side during engagement.  Give it back to them in police statoin itself and take their signature, take one person other than your parents who can be witness to the event.  If possible make video of the whole event.

Taking dowry is a offence, you will do time in jail 7 years under 498a IPC, if proved.

This is just a ritual and more settle ego problems.   Every one has his own story, and they hear both the parties and may decide as to who has to adjust / compromise.  They may be forming their own opinions depending on the talents of both the parties in presenting themselves as innocent in the drama to be enacted before them.  Always avoid pointing other's mistake, suppress emotions, maintain cool and that is the only precaution.

I don't support views such as bribing police expressed in those faqs. However you may go through it to better understand your case. pick up what is good, relevant and legal from it.

So we're living in Taliban, Pakistan. Marriage is terrorism and wives are suicide bombers. So accused, innocent men should seek for asylum to other countries like Israel, Canada &USA. Supreme Court itself and Indian citizenship itself is an absurd slap on itself, if any innocent family is convicted. Indian constitutional laws for marriage are worst then what is for rapes &murders. Shame on Repulic of India, Indian Parliament, PMO, Supreme Court of India, Indian President if any innocent family is convicted &harassed. We are in Taliban. We are in double standards. Live-in &gay, lesbi

Not yet, matter is thrown back into the pit (parliament) again.  Until some legislator is gay/lesbian and gets majority vote or every man becomes gay and these politicians in order to come to power and please gays will bring such Act, it is still punishable crime.  You cant even become gay now.  Better take mutual divorce, and find good girl and remarry without taking dowry/cash/kind.
