Fatwa against Vandemataram

Today I had seen the following news in www.in.com.

This type of comments harmful for the Soverginity of our country. As we are Advocates please suggest what can we do.

Deoband (UP): Terming the recitation of ‘Vande Mataram’ as against Islam, the Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind (JEU) has passed a resolution against the national song.

According to a resolution passed at the Deoband national convention meet on Tuesday, Muslims should not sing 'Vande Matram' as some verses of the patriotic song are against the tenets of Islam.

Incidentally, the controversy comes on a day when Home Minister P Chidambaram is to address the convention at the Deoband seminary, today.

Many leaders of the Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind, the organiser of the event, are said to be against ‘Vande Matram’.

Another prominent Islamic leader and Rajya Sabha MP Mehmood Madani has also objected to some lines in the national song.

The Muslim Law Board has justified the decision saying that (Muslims) can’t offer prayers to anyone but Allah. Kamal Farooqui, a prominent leader of the Board said, “We love the nation but can’t worship it."

According to sources, there was a clamour among a section of the scholars attending the conference, which opened yesterday, that a formal religious decree or a ‘fatwa’ should be issued against ‘Vande Matram’.

In an apparent attempt to pacify this section, the conference passed a resolution to this effect. Apart from it, 25 other resolutions were also passed which included a resolution denouncing terrorism.

`Stop making lucrative promises to Muslims`The conference, which opened yesterday at the Islamic institute in Deoband, was to be attended by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi also but sources yesterday confirmed that two will not travel to the western UP city.

The gathering, organised by Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind, is the first annual meeting of the organisation being held at Deoband. Nearly 10,000 clerics and Islamic scholars are expected to attend the event while the turnout of Muslims likely to cross the five-lakh marks.

The Jamiat meet is taking place in the backdrop of a series of conferences of Islamic scholars of different schools and activists explaining why Islam and terror of the jihadi brand were mutually exclusive.

Save India from whom by whom? Pakistan reaping the fruit of what it sowed. India will do the same in due course of time. We have don't have freedom; we have licence. There are Muslims in China, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and many other countries. They obey the law of the land there in their personal matters. In India, dictatorship of the majority will save us?

It is shame to the Government that is unable to implement laws effectively. Vandemataram is our national song. Irrespective religion, caste, creed each and every citizen of India should respect.

Government is giving several incentives to the minorities. When stomach is full they speak anything as they like. That is why reservation should be removed in India.

The fatwa and disrespect to nation is unporonable offence. In a civil society no one should be allowed to refuse to offer a prayer to the nation. Fundamental duties (Art. 51-A of the constitution ) should be made enforceable.

This Government take action? Useless Government. Really I pained a lot by hearing this news.

Even Rajya Sabha MP Mahmood Madani made some comments against national song. Who is going to take action against him?

Really it is a danger to the soverginity of India.

Congress gets 36% votes in Maharashtra and forms Government. This is democracy. Minorities and Dalits are crutches on which political parties ride.

i agree with Dr. Tripathi,

i would say, one more opportunity shall be given to such terroristic mind people to leave India en-masse.

i had not been able to understand why religion is being used for political goals by these ridiculous people.

now its a high time when we should have Fundamental Duties enforced and Uniform Civil Code in force.

See how our politicians are behaving Mr. Chindambaram was present there, he could have told something but he didn't in threat of loosing votes. These bladdy politicians have given much scope to these terriorists.

The fatwa is more than terriorist act supported by the blady politicians like chidmbaram, if he had guts he could have protested it.

Such people who is not ready to follow our country rules and regualtions they should kicked out without giving any chance, if they want to live here they must obey our country rules and regulations.

We Indians must protest it otherwise we will have to chnge our names within a short period.

It is direct attack on our country. now the politicial parties starts take the benefits. Congress will keep quiet, BJP opposes, such political drama will be for some time and after some days another issue will come then this issue will be forgotten.
