Assets of public servant under rti is a myth?

Assets of Public Servant under RTI is a Myth?

The Apex Court in Girish Ramchandra Deshpande vs CIC & Others case have barred the disclosure of Income Tax / Assets of Public Servant / Ministers / MPs etc.

In Para 14 of the Judgement, the Apex Court mentioned as

" The details disclosed by a person in his income tax returns are “personal information” which stand exempted from disclosure under clause (j) of Section 8(1) of the RTI Act, unless involves a larger public interest and the Central Public Information Officer or the State Public Information Officer or the Appellate Authority is satisfied that the larger public interest justifies the disclosure of such information."

With this judgement, all the public servants are taking advantage in disclosing their Assets details and PIO is also denying the Asset Info,s

The New Lokpal and Lokayukta Act 2014, Section 44, Declaration of Assets by public servant is the only hope to get the Information, that too, only after the public servants publish their Assets in the public domain i.e Web site,

I am sure the Bureaucrats will use all sort of influence in diluting this also.

Only God can save India from this Corruption menace.

Thanks,

are you talking about assetss or you are talking about Income Tax details.

No corrupt public servant reports unlawful income in his IT return.  Similarly they also do not report their assetts (created by ill-gotten money) to the deptt at all or underreport the value.
