Change of name

Hello,

I had purchased a flat jointly with my mother three years back and i am repaying the loan. As i am divorced, can i change my name (go back to my name before marriage) in case of the property name and also to the bank who has lended me the loan.

Yes it can be done, with the help of divorce decree, and you can go for a paper publication , and get your surname changed in all the documents pertaining to that, seek local counsel help in this regard.

Thanks for the reply but what is the procedure as the original documents are with the bank who is my loan lender

AND APPLY TO THE SAID BANK AND HSG SOCIETY TO MAKE NECESSARY CHANGES IN OFFICE RECORDS REGARDING CHANGE OF NAME DUE TO DIVORCE.
