Mom in law harrassment

My friends wife is a good women. but her Mom continues to harass my friend on some pretext or another and continues to interfere daily

all the time his wife is good but when she comes under the influence (undue) of her mother she becomes a devil and his life has become Hell otherwise she is ok.

his mom in law is not allowing to live their lives peacefully. and his wife is not ready to listen to him and listens only to her mom.

so i need help both legally friendly and socially.

so please help
