Property Dispute

Hi,

Background

I have bought a property in my name in 2004 and I am the sole owner of the same. I have the property registered and have been paying maintenance and property tax. I was staying at the property with my maternal aunt (sister of my mother). Post marriage after 1 year I had to leave my house on account of job transfer. My aunt was staying in the house with no rent or any other document between her and me. Now I wish to sell the property she is not allowing the sale to happen.

My question

1. What legal recourse I can adopt to force her to vacate the property

2. How fast can this be done

3. Will the local police enforce a court order

I am looking at fair and just means to evicit some.

Your maternal aunt has no authority to stay in the property.  She is not a tenant.  Hence you can evict her easily.  A  police complaint is enough.

Thank you for the response. Some more queries

1. Under what clause or section can I ask help from the police for this evicition

2. If the police refuse to take the compliant saying that this is a civil matter what should be my recourse

3. How fast is the police liable to act on such a complaint
