I do not think reply in english language can be refused by the Metropolitan Court. Go through the Criminal court rules of the concerned STATE, It must be mentioned in that rule in which languages the court is going to accept petition/reply etc.

Thanks for the reply. I could not find it either on gujarat high court website or on internet. Is there any way out? I just need a ruling. I can easily prove my wife knows english language.

Yes, he did, the court is metropolitan court, Ahmedabad.

Go to a Law book stall and ask for the ciminal court rules.

I got the RTI reply from Metropolitan court. Acceptable languages are both Gujarati and English.
