Child born outside marriage

I am in a live-in-relationship with a foreigner (Nigerian) for the past 2 years. I have given birth to a baby outside marriage. The hospital has issued to certificate with only my name on it and not the fathers name (as i am not married). On applying for the Child's Birth Certificate i mentioned the father's name in the application form. However the official refuse to give me the Certifcate with the father's name as the father's name is not mentioned on the hospital's certificate. On persuing them the Officer asked me to give him an evidence of a law on live in relationship. Can i be advice how to go about rectifying the same or a way out as the want my child to have her father's name.

1. Fantastic query.
2. This is the lacuna in Law as in Public Authority perception to cause title of Live-in in Indian context.
