Transfer of property thru gift deed

Dear Ld. Lawyers,

My mother had a self acquired property (plot).

In 2008 she transferred the plot to my name through Gift Deed as we wanted to avail a bank loan to build a house. Construction was completed in early 2009.

In late 2009, i got married. Have one year old kid now.

Last month I repaid the loan and got the documents.

Now, I want to transfer the plot alongwith the house to my mother's name.

My wife is objecting to it.

Can she legally stop me in transferring the plot + house to my mother's name??

Please advice.

Rgds

Nanda

No, she can't.  She has no right whatsoever over the said property.

Dear Querist,

Absolutely no right over the property - nor can anything be claimed on behalf of the child, as when you got the property through gift - it remained a seperate property - with even child acquiring no interest in the same.
