Re-News of Bindra, Dhoni to get honorary army rank. Prof. Anand Krishnan comments being son of An Indian Army =: "It was in 1986, I was selected for the post of Asst Commandant in the Indian Coast Guard. Due to compassionate grounds, couldn’t join prestigious organization, though stood first in the Interview/ SSB / physical fitness etc. which lasted 15 days in Delhi. Recalling memories of hardship PT/Drill/ Weapon Trg. and the ordeal, in the transformation of a disciplined duty-conscious officer from civil- life. Shocked to know from the NEWS TOI that good sports-person/good actors honour-ed as Lt. Colonel/Colonel equivalent rank illogically, overnight.
