Jurisdiction of icj(elaborated form)?

I want to know the jurisdiction of INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICE.

Dear Srajan,

ICJ has basically dual role jurisdiction, The first being it decides, in accordance with international law, disputes of a legal nature that are submitted to it by States and secondly it has an advisory role in providing opinions on legal issues put forth by the the organs of the United Nations or specialized agencies.
