Who will provide the post mortem report and when?

Hi, my relative committed suicide (drowned herself) on April 10, 2019, in Chennai. But we strongly believe that it's murder because of the way her in-laws and her husband conveyed the message and their behavior afterward. During the post- mortem, the in-laws sent few people to us for compromise but we didn't agree for that. We filed a complaint but the police said that they were not on the spot hence they didn't take the complaint from us.
All this has happened in the month of April but the police say that they did not receive the post-mortem report.
I would like to ask as to how long will it take to receive the post- mortem report and where do we get it?
We have hired a lawyer but it is of not much use and we have already sent a petition to Commissioner, CM, Governor, etc. but no action has been taken so far.

Thanks,
Sudhahar. S.

Thanks for this, but the police station is keep dragging it.

I am going to file an RTI for this. Could you please provide the following information.

Which Ministry/Department/Apex body is reponsible related this post-mortem

Which Public Authority  is responsilbe?

I need to fill these two information in the RTI application.

Kindly provide the above details.

Thanks,
