Vacating Shop

Hi Experts,

My Father rented a shop somewhere in 1965 for 200 Rs/Month. Is there an law to vacate the Shop. My Father is business man by profession and run a shop in small town of Punjab. Another shop along with this shop is rented to tenant. The rent is meagre 200 Rs which is very small amount. Is there any law to vacate the shop. I am the only son of my parents. I am software engineer by profession.

dear friend, make out a ground for personal or bonafide necessasity.

it is the more solid ground....and you can plead expansion of business by your father....your tenant can not dictate you terms i.e. he can not pur restrictions on such an expansion and for this purpose you will plead that you need shop.

I belong to state of Punjab and the latest judicial verdicts reflect that personal necessasity it the best ground for such purpose.

Thanks! for your reply. I heard that recently a law is passed by which if Father want to vacate shop on the basis that his son want to open the shop then he can. Is it correct?...
