THE INDIAN M&E SECTOR - A GAME CHANGER FOR THE INDIAN ECONOMY

There is not even an iota of doubt when it comes to how high rising is the Indian Media and Entertainment Industry as far as the Indian Economy is concerned. Various industry surveys and reports have endorsed the scopes of the sector with thumping growth figures and aggressive times ahead. Have a look at a few of the report mentions;

The Media and Entertainment industry in India is poised to grow from Rs 1,026 billion in 2014, to reach Rs 1,964 billion by 2019. The growth in popularity of digital media continued to surge in 2014, with a significant growth in digital advertising of 44.5 per cent over 2013. THE LEGAL & REGULATORY BREATHERS THE SECTOR IS IN NEED OF

While the numbers aforesaid might seem to be very promising and aggressive, there still remains a plethora of grey areas in terms of legal and regulatory aspects that The Indian Media & Entertainment Sector struggles to get through. The concerns vary from favourable business environs to the morals and ethics of journalism as well. The sector swings at a double edged sword where the business extremes are struggling hard to strike a balance between various notions of business. It is under this background the Lex Witness has researched over 3 months of time and has been able to curate a yet another edition.
