Terms of employment and labour law on dismissal of employee

If an employee is given notice of termination as per terms of employment, without assigning any reason, is he entitled to provisions of labour laws governing dismissal of an employee? Do the labour laws take precedence over term of employment letter?

case details-

Employee is working in non managerial post for last 4 years ( dismissal will deprive him gratuity)

The employees has about 3 years left for super annuation. Thus it may deprive him new job opportunities.

What are the entitlements available to him as per Indian labour laws?

Hypothetical queries usually do not have any solution.
