Tenancy act

we owner of land 7/12 has first our name and at the end has his name as kul land location ulwe navi mumbai 32g not done before land acquisition and after land got acquired cidco gave ₹36k compensation tenant took ₹8.5k and gave in written with his hand writing that he is accepting this money as compensation for land and surrendering all his rights for land with his signatures and kept quite for more than 20years once plot got alloted in 2009 he waked up and started claiming his right. case is pending in court once he said in court sign is mine but not handwriting and now he states neither handwriting nor signed by me the letter is available with tehsildar office. he was supposed to get 60% from compensation amount but took 22%-25% amounted ₹8.5k and kept quite and surrendered his rights .now again and again he is contacting us for settlement telling we will sit and decide but we are not responding what can we do further ????? guide us.
