Stay of execution proceedings

Dear Sirs,

In DV act when we go in for an appeal in sessions court against the judgment of Magistrate court under 29 of the act is there a need to file two petitions one for stay and the other for appeal? Is it not sufficient if we file only an appeal? Once we have gone in for an appeal are the opposite side automatically disabled from approaching Magistrate court for  execution proceedings against the respondent for non implementation of its order.

Thanks and Regards.

Yours sincerely,

N.B.S
