What is the position when a document is signed by a person , firstly by self or on behalf of or in due course of office procedure when a subordinate signs for the boss. What is the presumptions as to signatures as per the evidence act . Relevant supreme court judgments would be welcome.

When a document is signed by a person in his official capacity, for and on behalf of the office, the office will be held responsible for the acts of the individual. This is civil liability. However, if any offence has been committed or an attempt is being made, he apart from his office, will individually be responsible. ddkharpudikar@indiatimes.com
