Resignation is a solution

I am continuously harrased at my job. The employee here are planning to put me in some conspiracy which might affect my career and future employment prospects. Please help
Is resignation is an option.
The dept is a govt. one.

Yes I am unmarried. I am good at my work. Since the post on which I have hired was fixed by upper management. Means they want to hire their candidate. He is kept in the waitlist, if I will resign or removed during probation period of one year then it will be given to the next candidate.
