Representation of chs on "association of societies"

Hi,

We have five societies in our complex. We are in the middle of registering the Association of our societies. As a requirement we are working on the bye laws for Society. But the members have different opinions on how the societies would be represented on the Association of societies.

The five societies have different number of members. Two societies have 112 members each, Two have 28 members each & one has got 140 members. While framing the representation rules we have defined that each society would be represented by five members in the "Association of Societies". We thought each society would have same number of representatives as a principal of equality. But some members from the bigger societies objected to this rule. As per their opinion, each society should have representation according to the number of members of the society.

Can somebody clarify on this please ? Are we right in framing the rule of five members from each society irrespective of the size of the society.

Thanks in advance for your responses.
