Rent delayed- eb not paid

sir
if a tenant is past due on rent (10k) and havent paid the eb bill(Close to 9k) for this month, what action can i take in this regard.
if EB disconnects his service and he loses power, can he file a criminal case against me for disconnecting the service.
this is for a flat in chennai and we are on a 11 monht lease and license agreement that was not registerd.the tenant just moved in 2 months back and rent is delayed in depositing pretty much every month since move in..

If the electricity meter is in your name you are liable to pay.

The tenant has breached the agreement.

Proceed thru your counsel.

Electric meter is in your name and you are bound to pay for that. If you want you can disconnect the electric by procedure and non have right in that. With the tenant you have no agreement and for the loses of money you can send the legal notice thereafter you can disconnect the electric.
