Rent agreement registration

Hi,

I reside in Thane west  Maharashtra,  I have an agreement with my Landlord which is not registered . I am aware that It should be registered  but I have a problem that my land lord stays in delhi and cannot come for registration purpouses . The society where I stay is asking to submit a registered agreement and are making a Rs 100 fine in maintainance bill each month which my landlord bears.

Please suggest how can I get it registered? provided my landlord is unwilling to come just for registration and he seems ok with our agreement.

What are my threats from society in such a situation as they kind of give a warning each time about getting it registered. I am residing with my wife from June last year and my agreement was supposed to be renewed february this year.

Total time of my stay is 18 months now. I used to stay as bechelor for one year and now with my wife for last 10 Months.

Please reply and guide me with suitable course of action.

Regards,

Saurabh

your flat owner can register it thru  POA , if he cannot come to thane.

as owner bear rs 100/- what is your problem. Owner is liable for Registration, not you.
