Rent agreement closure-Eviction

My tenant's tenure as per the rent agreement has completed, but he is refusing to vacate the premises.
What is the best course of action for me? Can I give him legal notice of one month as per the agreement and if he does not abide by it, Can I file an FIR with the police and get him evicted?

Police have no power as you yourself admits him as tenant, it is a civil dispute and you need to initiate eviction proceedings before Rent Controller
