Release Deed

Under what provision of law 'Release Deed' is being executed? It is not there in Transfer of Property Act. How it can be differentiated with 'Gift Deed'? Whether 'Release Deed' is an istrument of 'transfer of property'?

So far as the Deed of Release is concerned its a relinquishment of somebody's right forever for some consideration in return. It can be without consideration also. In gift deed donor gifts his or her share in the property partially or exclusively in favour of donee wherein no consideration is involved and its made out of love or affection. Both are to be stamped and compulsorily registrable.
