Regarding superdari

Dear Experts,

I recently found this website and am amazed at how much the lawyers of India are helping out the common man. Its good to know that we can be informed of the real legal procedures here and not be fooled unecessarily. Kudos to you all.

My query is simple - there was a falsified FIR made against me over a minor accident (car and bike touched). During a meeting with the Police, they have agreed that the FIR is fake and have stopped the case there. No chargesheet has been filed. They are undergoing the procedure to quash the FIR. In the meanwhile my car has been impounded and it will take sometime for the FIR to be quashed.

I was told by the SHO that the car will be released only by a court order. I learnt soemthing about superdari but am not sure. Please enlighten me as to what is the procedure for superdari and if i need to pay any surety on a bond?

Best Regards
Piyush
