Recently my uncle put forward a gift deed for registration for his grand son. As he is old, arrangements were made to get summon authorities home for signatures. While the registration was pending, his brother filed a report/complaint to stop regiatration as he has most recent valid documents that the property belongs to him. We were asked by district registrar to cancel registration of gift deed. We agreed. DR mentioned that we would get our refund of stamp duty with 10 percent cut once we put forward cancellation of deed by uncle.
Any idea why the 10 percent is going to be withheld? Please note that we are asking for cancellation while registration is pending..
