Power of attorney - original lost -tamilnadu

sir,
i lost original power of attorney given by me to my father in 2007 in tamilnadu for buying a flat
i was able to get a certified copy of the same. want to sell it now..but the buyer bank, public bank,is insisting for the original.
how should go wtih it. i dont even know where/how i lost it.

is certified copy enough to get the power cancelled. my father is still alive.
do we need to get it cancelled only through court or a simple affidavit and new paper publication is enough for it

why would the bank be asking for the original and why would i be surrendering the original to buyer/bank even if i have it .

The cerified copy is enough. If need be an Affidavit could be filed. If your father is alive he can cancel the POA.
