My owner is not returning my security deposit after 3 months of vacating the house. Last week he gave me a cheque which was 13,000 less than the original amount. But today the cheque has bounced. I want to take legal steps against him and get my money back. What should I do?

You dont need advocate for lodging FIR.

Dear Friend,
Please issue a legal notice and calling and demanding him to pay the security deposit amount, and later you have to file a criminal case under section 138 of NI act.

Please file a complaint with the police, under who's jurisdiction the house is, and approach a lawyer to apply for a legal suit. Not sure about the sections, but you can file a case for recovery, and 420 (cheating), as he has attempted to cheat you...
