Notice of 160 crpc

i have received the notice of section160 crpc. one application is filed by the complainant to launch a FIR against me. Police has given notice under section 160crpc. but on given date i am out of station. i have sent an sms to psi to give me new date. is it compulsory to attend on the date given in notice. what should i do as i am not present on the date mentioned in the notice. will sending sms to psi for new date is suffice.

As per this section, any police officer can call any male above 15 years and less than 65 of age can be called by a police officer for interrogation in connection with a case. So, my advice is that you should attend that date in person or by way of an advocate.
Your SMS would not suffice.
