Legal help please

Sir,

Can any one filled two case against me for one damage?????

Some one fillead a case on me u/s 420 in Cr.P.C and on the other hand he filled a civil case on me for recovery of amount. i am unable to understand how a person can filled two case against the same damages.

section 420 ipc is criminal in nature and if proved would result in imprisonment but there is no chance to recover the money whereas recovery suit is civil in nature and its vice versa

Both civil and criminal proceedings can continue simultaneously. Though you can argue in criminal that the case is of civil nature given criminal colour and separate civil proceedings have also been initiated.
