I have a rent case (eviction of tenant) in the High Court for which I engaged a lawyer. He took Rs 60,000 as full fees ofcourse without receipt. Our subject was eviction on account of sub tenancy which we had won in the Sessions Court. So we pleaded for Mense profit in tHE High Court and the lawyer submitted rent deeds of nearby premises. The court thereafter gave a long date of 4 months. I asked him to apply that atleast our pleading for Mense profit may be decided early and the main case can be decided on the appointed day, which my lawyer did. For this he is now asking for Rs 25000/- .Is it fair? Is there anything I can do?
