Is there a time limit for mutation?

Civil court had passed a court decree in favour of a person and awarded him a house in 1976. However, the owner could not get the mutation done then. He filed an application for mutation at the office of the SDM in February 2012. But the SDM has been dragging it for a year and says he has the right to reject it. Can the SDM reject a civil court decree? Is there a time limit to the mutation?

Hi Namrata,

He dont have right to reject your application.I think he needs bribe money, thats why he is prolonging the matter.Even if he rejects you application, you can approach highier authorities, to get reliefs, there you will get justice.

I think there isn't any limitation for taking mutation entries. But it really create lot of problems.

SDM can not reject it , he cannot overrule court decree. But who is responsible for delaying to take mutation is not mentioned.

in case if the sdm rejects it, then file appeal against it.
