Insurance query

We have one open insurance policy with National Insurance and one road movement is to take place from Teleganag to Bengal. There is an advance payment of premium amount and we would like to notify Insurance Co at week end (due to holidays, there is no dated acknowledgement but regd letter only). My reading is as political unrest is brewing all across Andhra Pradesh, a seperate acknowledgement will save the interest of insured as otherwise a civil disturbance might help Insurance Co to avoid compensation route, in case of any untoward incident. Please advise.

Dear Sir,

In case of Open Insurance Policy,  agreed mode of intimation prior to any movement needs to be checked, Sometime an email to the insurance company is suffiecient for that intimation.

If you have adequte premium with the insurance company according to value of consignment to be moved, and if you have sent the communication to the insurance company through agreed mode prior movement, (may be it was not received by them before the accident happened). The insurance Company can't take benifit of that non communication to them.

However reasons for claiming the compentation should not be attributable to the risks excluded by insurance company.

Regards,

Manish
