Indian Sugar Industry

Hello everybody,

Can anyone help me out in getting information on the sugar export subsidies/ relaxation by government. I do know that the govt has extended the export subsidy till 2009. What are the latest policy amendments in this behalf??

Does anyone know of any sie where we can find BEST PRACTICES -in relation to functional aspect as well as technical aspect.

The subsidies, valid for one year until April 2008, give mills located in coastal areas 1,350 rupees ($34.25) per tonne for exports, while in the north they receive 1,450 rupees per tonne.
