Can I submit an RTI to the Income tax department seeking information of all the tax return filed by me from AY 2007 till date? Will it get rejected under section 8(1)(j) ? I am not seeking information for anybody else but myself.
Being a salaried person with all my tax deducted at source and having received a refund for the AY 2007-08, I have demand presented now for Rs. 50,000 for AY 2007-08 and surprising after talking to AO, he doesn't seem to have any record of the IT returns I have filed i 2007-08 whereas I have a refund noticed from the IT department!
I want to seek information about my own records through RTI. Can I do that? Can someone guide me how to submit my application?
