How to expedite a case.

I have won a case filed against me in the district court. However, the petitioner has filed an appeal in the high court in september 2008. The case has been admitted by the Hon' Court.  How much time will it take for the case to actually come up before a judge or division bench, and is there any way that this can be expedited as I am over 60 years of age and suffering from diabetes.

Ask your advocate to file an application to fix an early date for final disposal

Ok, thanks for the reply. Will do that. Just one more thing. Can you give me a approximate time line I should be looking at for this case to come on board, so that I'm mentally prepared for the long waiting time. Because what I have heard is that, it takes anywhere from 10 to 15 years in Bombay high court for a case to actually be assigned to a Court. i.e. actually for the proceedings to start.
