Gratuity period in india

Dear Sir,

I worked in Banking sector. My joining date is 29-04-2014. I am looking to resign. some one is telling gratuity period 4yrs 8 months. As per law what is exact period for gratuity.

After completion of Five Years you are elligible for graduity

1st thing 1st; One should download the Gratuity rules of the establishment (Govt/private) e.g; said Bank and go thru these carefully.

The establishment works for how many days/week; 6 or less than 6?

The bank must have displayed the ruels on website or thru employee log in and in branch and might have narrated that Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972 applies.

GO thru the Act e.g section; 2A and relate.
