Nothing like that,

Kishor Mehta (CEO)     30 December 2019

It can also be drafted in English.

It can be drafted in any language both donor and donee can understand, and for the sake of registration authorities you can provide a Marathi version/English version.

For English/Marathi drafting there are no such restrictions.

1. Preferably Draft the "Gift Deed" in English & duly Register it. In case of a future eventuality /Dispute reaching high court, you would have to convert the Marathi Gift Deed translated into English, from a registered translator which will be expensive and time consuming.

2. IN the event when you sell the property, the Buyer "MAY" not understand Gift Deed in Marathi and will create confusion to all concerned.

Based on the interest of Owners it can be draft either by local language or English

There is no restriction in the language to be used in the deed, it can be in English too.

Thank you all. I was planning to draft it in English but since there is Marathi prevailing in the local offices, I was doubtful.
