False cases and effective measures against it

There are several instances of false cases (both civil and criminal) filed regularly with ulterior motive to harass the accused. Indian judicial system and laws are notoriously weak in preventing it or taking measures against it! The overburdened judiciary and long duration of cases are adding salt to injury.

As this puts accused person's liberty and life at stake, is there scope for laws that will enable courts to take suo sponte cognizance and based on facts available during trial sentence the erring party and grant relief to the falsely accused?

"Prevention of Corruption" is one such act, which is being misused widely. In the name of curbing corruption, innocents are being sent to jail and real culprits are being allowed to roam free, only because "law buying capacity" of real culprits are much higher compared to innocents. Right from officers of investigating agenceis to court are bought by the culprits and innocnets are left to die in jail for the crime which they have never done.

And takes years (may be even upto death) to come clean after false charges have been framed.
