ESI & PF deduction from Bonus

Dear Friends

I would like to have a clarification from you all, are we liable to deduct ESI & PF from the Bonus paid to employees.

As I need to submit a report to the management, a prompt reply from your side would be highly appreciated.

The terms wages would not include annual bonus and hence there is no question of any deductions to be made in bonus towards PF & ESI
