A minor (girl) was abused by a family member (brother) and the elders of the family (parents) did not help the minor who was abused ... can the minor (now a major) seek retribution against said family members?
Many countries have a duration within which such cases should be filed ... is there such a duration in India?

The limitation period is equivalent to the term of imprisonment, can say safely seven years. But in this case, when the limitation period starts- Is it from the date of offence or from the date she became major. If she is filing a criminal complaint within seven years from the date she became major,the compaint is maintainable.
