DEATH IN HOSPITAL

PATIENT DIES IN HOSPITAL AFTER SURGERY UNDER GENERAL ANESTHESIA. POST MORTEM ORDERED AS DEATH WAS SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED. IS VISCERA ANALYSIS NOT MANDATORY TO RULE OUT DEATH DUE TO TOXICITY ON ACCOUNT OF OVERDOSE OF DRUGS OR ANESTHESIA?

i think in this case postmartum should be there

Meenu,

In the said case post mortem was there, but viscera analysis was not there. Post Mortem opinion was death was due to Intra Muscular injection, which had caused abscess, which had lead to Cellulitis and finally to Septecemia. Defense Case is that death was due to overdose of medicine/anesthesia and not due to IM injection.  In the absence of viscera analysis, death due to over dose mof medicine/anesthesia was not ruled out.
