Criminal case - IPC 420,418&416

Hi guys, One of my friend got summons from UP state MMC staying that he has done fraud against two wheeler loan xyz company in repayment of two wheeler purchased amount , so he got very much scared and paid his total due and obtained termination FC, does he requires to be presence before the court according to the summons issued or else the company will withdraw their complaint accordingly... Pls advise!
