Woman claims she was molested for refusing drink at a party

New Delhi, Dec 6, (PTI):
A young woman has filed a police complaint alleging that a son of a businessman had molested her after she refused to accept a drink from him at a late night party in south Delhi, police said on Monday.
The young man along with his friend also allegedly assaulted her personal bodyguard at a farmhouse in Sainik Farms yesterday at around 3:30 AM. Police have registered a molestation case and were questioning the suspect though no arrests have been made.

According to the complainant, who is the daughter of a South Delhi-based businessman, she had gone to a party thrown by her classmate who is getting married.

While the woman was at the party, police said, a youth came to her and started a conversation. However, she did not entertain him but after sometime, he again approached her and offered her a drink which she refused.

The woman then left the party along with her guard. While they were waiting for their car, the same youth appeared there and tried to talk to the victim but she refused.

Enraged at this, the official claimed, the youth tried to grab her hand but failed because of the guard's intervention. The youth's friends, who were coming out of the party, then beat up the guard.

The complainant alleged that the youth allegedly tried to molest her and slapped her, the official said adding she also claimed that the youth attempted to drag her into his car.
Seeing the commotion, guards from nearby farmhouses intervened and saved the woman.

Gul Panag was so right when she blamed the typical North Indian male mentality. Add to it money, power, contacts & it becomes a heady mix. There seems to be no cure of this disease :-(
