It would be a futile case.

It would be futile because, you have no means to prove your claim of having given the Credit Card for limited use to another person, which in itself is not as per the rules of the issue by the Bank/Credit organization, As per the records, it would appear that you only used the Card, as you must have given the PIN also to that another person. Even if you can get the cc TV footage (which is difficult) from the ME/Shop concerned, how can you prove that you have given it for limited usage?

You may allege theft and forgery only to threaten for such recovery and not more, as once you ask some one to sign on your behalf, that is not power and later you can not estoppe  saying that it is for a specific purpose.
