Contractual employee regularization

Respected Forum Members,

I would like to know that if there is any policy for Regularization of the Contractual Employees.

My wife is working as Assistant Professor in Punjabi University Patiala from Last 9 years. She was appointed through advertisement in newspaper followed by interview in Punjabi University.

She is PHD in Finance and fulfilling UGC norms to become regular but University is not doing it.

Any judgements which can be helpful?


If it was a job through Employment Exchange how you mention as contractual employee ? She shall be governed by the rules prevalent in the Punjab university for regularisation. If you are aggrieved, you can file writ Petition if not regularised.

It does not appear that your wife is contractual employee.She was employed through regular recruitment procedure and is entitled to be regularised.How ever it would be better to see her letter of appointmentment,before concluding.This is general advice.Regardingprocedure for regularisation,it is necessary to read the statutes of university.
