Civil suit

In a partition suit, can all those defendants who have common interest , can file a written statement supported by the affidavit of one Defendant OR each one defendant has to file a separate affidavit OR Whether the WS should be signed by all the defendants and if the defendants are residing outside india in that eventuality can it be signed or notarized by the attorney of that state ?
