Cheque bounce case – possibility to appoint representative o

I want to file a Cheque Bounce case Under Section 138 of the NI Act, however when I approached an advocate he told that I need to be present in person at the court many times (for e.g. at the time of filing a case, Magistrate confirming the person on sworn affidavit, personal hearings etc). However, owing to my difficulties in job and leave policies in my office, I might not be able to attend court in person those many number of times. One of my colleague filed a similar case and he is finding very difficult to attend court in person every time.

Can any of you please tell me if it is possible to appoint any representative (may be by giving Power of Attorney in normal parlance) on my behalf (of course at some cost), so that I need not attend each and every time. I am ready to attend if the court really requires my presence (like personal hearing). When I checked with advocate, he is saying there is no other alternative. Can any of you please suggest with alternatives.
