Sir,one of my friend is having surname Mishra,but originally he is dalit,long back his ancestors migrated to new village ( around 70 years back) and adopted surname of Mishra in order to sanskritize themselve and move up in social hierarchy. Can he get SC caste certificate? If yes then what is the procedure and how he can prove that he is originally dalit?

He can get. Borrowing brahmin surname deos not deprive him of dalit status.
